1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking and paying for any service with JC Dog Behaviour & Training, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Booking and Payment
All sessions, classes, and packages must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Payment plans are available on 1:1 session packages only when agreed in writing. Your appointment or place is not secured until payment has been received.
3. Cancellations – 1:1 Appointments
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your scheduled 1:1 appointment may be rescheduled at no additional cost.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled 1:1 appointment may be rescheduled subject to an additional charge equivalent to 50% of the full 1:1 session fee.
4. What Counts as a Cancellation
For the avoidance of doubt, a cancellation includes any appointment that cannot be attended at the originally booked date and time, regardless of reason.
5. Cancellations by JC Dog Behaviour & Training
JC Dog Behaviour & Training reserves the right to cancel or rearrange appointments where necessary. Any appointment cancelled by JC Dog Behaviour & Training will be rescheduled for a later date at no additional cost to the client.
6. Follow-Up Sessions and Block Bookings
All pre-paid sessions must be used within three (3) months of the payment date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Group Classes – Attendance and Refunds
No refunds are given for missed group classes. Missed group classes cannot be transferred to another class or course.
8. Missed Group Classes – Optional Catch-Up
Clients may book a 1:1 catch-up session for any missed group classes at an additional cost equivalent to 50% of the standard 1:1 session fee.
9. Dog Bite History and Safety
If your dog has ever bitten another person or animal, this must be disclosed prior to attending any session or class.
Failure to disclose this information may result in the session or class being refused without refund, in the interest of safety.
10. Weather Conditions
Sessions and classes will not be cancelled due to normal adverse weather conditions. Clients are responsible for dressing appropriately for outdoor sessions.
In extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to heatwaves (above 23°C), heavy rain, snow, or other conditions deemed unsafe, JC Dog Behaviour & Training may cancel the session. In these circumstances, the session will either be moved online or rescheduled.
11. Training Approach and Client Responsibility
All training methods used by JC Dog Behaviour & Training are kind, ethical, and evidence-based. Behaviour change is not instant and requires consistency and commitment from the client outside of sessions.
JC Dog Behaviour & Training cannot guarantee specific results, as outcomes depend on many factors including the dog’s history, environment, and the client’s follow-through.
12. Liability and Insurance
JC Dog Behaviour & Training holds relevant public liability insurance with Pet Business Insurance.
However, JC Dog Behaviour & Training cannot be held responsible for injury, loss, or damage resulting from a client’s failure to follow professional advice, instructions, or to use appropriate equipment during or outside of training sessions.
13. Ongoing Communication
Clients agree to provide reasonable updates on their dog’s progress via email, text message, or other agreed communication channels, and to respond to communications from JC Dog Behaviour & Training where required for ongoing support.
14. Data Protection and GDPR
JC Dog Behaviour & Training is committed to protecting your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
Personal information collected will only be used for the purpose of delivering services, managing bookings, and communicating with clients.
Your data will not be shared with third parties unless legally required or with your explicit consent.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.
15. Changes to These Terms
JC Dog Behaviour & Training reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on the website.
